John Almeida Jr. - Board Member
John Almeida grew up in Medford, New Jersey as the son of the (late) Hon. John A. Almeida and Elaine Almeida. John’s late father is a former Marine Corpsman and Superior Court Judge in NJ and his mother raised the family and kept the three “boys” in line.
John resides in New Canaan, CT with Melissa, his wife of almost 27 years. They have 5 children together, ranging in age from 15 through 23, and three yellow labrador retrievers. Melissa left a Wall St. career to raise and build our family and has done so with grace, strength and a tremendous amount of patience.
John Almeida is a Co-Founder of private equity firm BeaconHead Partners and serves as Managing Partner. John has over 25 years of transaction and operating experience in the technology enabled services sector. Most recently John was a Partner at AEA Investors leading the firm’s technology enabled services sector. John previously completed several technology investments and was the founder and had a senior management role at Reimagine Holdings Group before the company was sold to a strategic buyer. He began his private equity career at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) where he was a General Partner and Member of the Management Committee.
John has been involved with several community, civic and charitable organizations during his career. Creating opportunity, celebrating shared humanity and empowering others are the consistent themes that run through these activities.
Currently, John is an active member of the Board of Domus (www.domuskids.org) and serves on the Workforce Development Committee, the organization’s flagship service to the young people we serve in Connecticut. Previously, John was a member of the Board of St. Mark the Evangelist School in Harlem (affiliated with the Inner-City Scholarship Fund in New York City), a David Rockefeller Fellow for the Partnership for NYC and actively involved in various school and community athletic organizations in CT.
John attended public school in southern New Jersey through high school. He holds a B.A. degree from Yale College, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
